S.R. DeBoer Park

S.R. DeBoer Park looks really tiny when you're approaching it but because it's attached to this trail it's actually large. It also has a really fun and unique playground structure which was embarrassingly fun for me to go on too. I think it's worth going to if you're really into parks or wanting to walk along that trail.

Robert H. McWilliams Park

McWilliams Park is sort of secluded from too many busy streets but is off some major streets so easily accessible. It has a trail nearby for walking, a stream, and a nice playground, plenty of grass to play in. I think it's worth going to. It has dinosaur structures for kids to play on which makes it unique too and lots of trees surround it.

Dailey Park

Dailey Park is a nice neighborhood park that's sort of secluded from the busy streets nearby, like Broadway. It has a nice walking trail around the entire park, which is kind of smallish, but still nice. It has a playground, some benches, and places to play in the grass. If I were nearby I would visit again and if I lived near it I would be there all the time.

Hungarian Freedom Park

Hungarian Freedom Park is a section of grass near 1st and Speer with a fountain and a stone monument dedicated to Hungary and their freedom from Russia. It's worth going to if you're interested in seeing historical places, but there's really not much to do. If I lived nearby it would be okay to visit from time to time, but with kids it's not really anything I would go to again. It's also along a couple of busy streets so it's not super nice and relaxing to visit.

Sunken Gardens

Sunken Gardens is a largish park, has a playground, some trails, basketball court, place to throw around a frisbie and such, but the only reason I gave it a 3/5 is that it's off of 8th street. I would never go to this park unless for someone reason I was at the hospital across the street and needed a break for some reason. Parking isn't great either and it's surrounded by one-way streets which I don't find particularly convenient. It was a nice park though and if I lived around there I would enjoy it.

Mir Park

Mir Park has a different sign than the other Denver parks, but the address says it's in Denver, so I'm not sure what the deal is with it. It's right next to a Goodwill which has a ridiculous parking lot, so we always park here to go to Goodwill and then play at the park. They have some cool equipment that you don't find at too many parks, including a chair swing, which is super fun. It's really small but is a nice neighborhood park.

City of Cuernavaca Park

Although this park is near several other parks- Denver Skate Park, Commons Park, Confluence Park- it is a little harder to get to. You have to cross a busy street and there's nothing else here besides some grass and rocks. The rocks are cool and have things carved into them, but there's no playground or anything. If you wanted a quieter place to go, since the other parks across the street are so busy, you might like it here. Unless I wanted to go along the trail I'd probably never come here again.

Confluence Park

This park is right near Denver Skate Park, Commons Park, and City of Cuernavaca Park, and I even think a couple of others. You can walk to all of this. I would recommend this whole area of town to spend a day hanging out.

Commons Park

Commons Park seems to blend into Confluence Park so I'm not exactly which parts are considered a part of which park, so I'll separate out our pictures as best I can. This whole area is nice because there are about five parks, trails, a skate park, a creek, and it's all in this downtown type area where you can go to shops and restaurants too if you want to.

There is also a part of this stream where you can go swimming and I saw people tubing. There is a lot to do so I would recommend going if you get a chance. There is also some historical information around about the Cheyenne Tribe which was really sad but good to learn.

Denver Skate Park

The Denver Skate Park is really awesome for skateboarders. Cainen really liked it although we couldn't stay there long enough for him. The skate park is right in the middle of three other parks and walking distance from trails, a creek, and shops, so it's a great place to go for a lot of activities once you're done at the skate park.
