I went to Governors' Park with my friend Lauren and we tried some of the playground even though we're a little too big for it. It's a nice park right in the middle of downtown. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this park but if you live nearby it's nice enough. There is a grass area to play also. It's not a park I would go out of my way to go to. It's kind of geared more towards younger kids too and it's near a couple busy streets.
Also, there are a lot of homeless guys that seem to live here, so I would be a little cautious about sending my kids to play here by themselves. But we met a couple and they were friendly enough. :)
I love going to parks. It's one of my favorite things to do. I take the kids to parks at least once a week. I thought it would be a fun goal for me and the kids to try to visit every park in Denver. According to the Parks and Rec website there are over 200. Our plan is to go to every single one- tiny neighborhood parks and the larger city parks- and then rate them based on what we like in a park. It will give us an excuse to explore Denver and get some exercise.
