We were going to the Civic Center Park and saw this on the way. Basically though, it's a tiny corner of a block with some grass and benches. There really wasn't anything to it at all. It's not anything that I think kids would like to play at. It did look pretty popular for homeless guys. As you can see from the pics- that is about what you get at this park.
I love going to parks. It's one of my favorite things to do. I take the kids to parks at least once a week. I thought it would be a fun goal for me and the kids to try to visit every park in Denver. According to the Parks and Rec website there are over 200. Our plan is to go to every single one- tiny neighborhood parks and the larger city parks- and then rate them based on what we like in a park. It will give us an excuse to explore Denver and get some exercise.

I live across the street. In 15 years when I bought my condo I have never been able to use Quality Hill Park: it has been overwhelmed by homeless people. Every Sunday for the last month I have been scrubbing off graffiti on our building. Past dark, whether morning or evening this is not a safe neighborhood. I am truly sorry your cute, sweet children cannot enjoy this micro respite. It could absolutely be a relaxing place to stop, birdwatch, eat a snack, do some writing and carry on walking to the next interesting historical building. Thank you for embarking on this neat, active project with your children. Your family is lovely. Very truly yours, Monica Day
